Effective December 1, 2008, all MRTBE certificates are being printed with new security features: The paper is tan with a basket weave pattern, further when viewed under ultraviolet light glowing spots will appear. If the certificate presented does not have these features, you are dealing with a copy or a counterfeit, not an original copy. Always see the original before accepting a copy. This is a new initiative, therefore documents prepared prior to December 1, 2008, will not have these features.
